Skip hire in Kootingal

Kootingal and neighbouring Moonbi are villages on the New England Highway with plenty of rural-residential blocks around them. Typical jobs are shed and garage clean-outs, renovations, and clearing old fencing or green waste on acreage. A 6–8 m³ skip suits most acreage clean-ups.

Kootingal Transfer Station

Tamworth Regional Council runs a Kootingal Transfer Station with limited hours. Council's page currently lists Monday 8:30am to 11:30am and Saturday 1pm to 4pm. Council says its rural transfer stations are only suitable for small vehicles, and waste is trucked back to Tamworth. For a big job, a skip avoids several trips into Forest Road.

Council rules

A skip on your own land generally doesn't need approval. On the road or nature strip, Tamworth Regional Council requires section 68 approval, listed at $120 in 2025–26. See the permit guide.
